NanostarNANOSTAR (Nano-Structured Ferrolectric Films for Tuneable Acoustic Resonators and Devices) is a new project (STREP) supported by European Commission in the 6th framework program (FP6). The main objective of the project is development of nanostructured ferroelectric films for microwave applications. Ferroelectrics considered in this project are complex metal oxide dielectrics (Barium and Strontium Titanate-BaxSr1-xTiO3) characterized by high dielectric permittivity. The dielectric permittivity of these materials is electric field dependent, allowing development of voltage controlled capacitors (varactors) and a large number of microwave components for microwave applications. The devices based on these films offer a substantial reduction of cost, sizes and power consumption, i.e. features useful for power hungry microwave systems, especially... Read more |
| Activity report No 1 Executive Summary This (revised) version of the report takes into account the requests and comments made by the reviewers at the 2nd review meeting on July 4th, 2006. The report covers the activities in the NANOSTAR project from the start, May 15th, 2005, to May 14th 2006. It includes the milestones, M3, M6, M9, and M12, and associated deliverables. In WP2, Chalmers, Philips, and EPFL hav... Read more |
Activity report No 2 Executive Summary In WP1 the electrical, structural and chemical properties of the fabricated ferroelectric films are studied further and analytical models of the dielectric and field-induced piezoelectric effect are developed. In WP2 the materials, processes, and test structures are developed. In WP3 the device demonstrators (varactors, delay lines and tuneable TFBARs) are successfully dev... Read more |
